Trudeau Liberals fail BC’s sport fishing industry - again

The Liberal government recently announced the effective closure of the recreational Fraser Chinook fishery on the south coast. This decision will devastate our sportfishing industry in Southern BC at a time when the industry is already struggling with COVID-19 related challenges. The industry had developed a consensus proposal which would have allowed for a limited fishery in 2020 and used mass marking of hatchery fish and a mark selective fishery to enhance recreational angling in future years while supporting the recovery of our wild salmon stocks. Another FAIL for the Trudeau Liberals.
