Every day there is more information coming to light about the need to act, both individually and collectively, to give ourselves the best chance at managing the threat that the COVID-19 virus presents. That’s why, as your Member of Parliament, I am committed to providing you with frequent updates as the situation evolves and as new information becomes available.
Statement on COVID-19 Virus
Today, the House of Commons unanimously decided to suspend its sittings until April 20th due to the rapidly expanding scope of the COVID-19 Virus. Going forward, I will not be attending public events and will be doing most of my work over the phone, by Skype/Facetime or by teleconferencing. My office staff in the constituency and in Ottawa will still be available to assist constituents by telephone (604)557-7888 or by email ed.fast@parl.gc.ca. Until further notice, my constituency staff will be taking “in office” meetings by appointment only.I am asking my constituents to follow all precautions recommended by Health Canada and make every effort to practice “social distancing” and avoid unnecessary contact with others.
